Educational Technology

-       It is the application of technology in the educative process or the teaching-learning process that takes place in educational institutions.



Four phases of application of Educational Technology in Teaching-Learning

1.    Setting of Learning Objectives
2.    Designing specific learning experiences
3.    Evaluating the effectiveness of the learning experiences
4. Revising teaching-learning process for improving future instructional activities


What are the differences of Technology in Education, Instructional Technology and Technology Integration with each other?

Technology in Education is the application of technology in the operation of the educational institution. For example, the billing process, enrollment process, ID system, etc. Instructional Technology then, refers to aspects of Educational Technology that are concerned with instructions like, projectors, laptops, LED monitors, tablets and cell phones, and anything that can be used for instructing the learners. And Technology Integration is the use of learned technologies to introduce, supplement and extend the skills of the learners. One example for this is the use of computer in schools by the students.
         






The roles of Technology in Learning

ü  Technology as tools to support knowledge construction
ü  Technology as information vehicles for exploring knowledge
ü  Technology as context to support learning by doing
ü  Technology as social medium to support learning by conversing
ü  Technology as intellectual partner to support learning by reflecting


Learning Objectives of Educational Technology 1

· To orient the learner to the pervasiveness of educational technology in society.
·  To lend familiarization on how educational technology can be utilized as media for the    avenues teaching-learning process in school.
·   To uplift human learning through the use of learning technology.
·   To impart skills in planning, designing, using and evaluating the technology-enriched    teaching-learning process.
·   To acquaint learners on basic aspects of community education, functions of the school    media center, and finally
·  To introduce the learner to what is recognized as the third revolution in education, the    computer.
